Three injured, one cited in Wednesday night crash near Shoreyville Plaza

EAST ROCHESTER -Three motorists were injured and one cited in a two-car collision at the intersection of Highland Street and Salmon Falls Road on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred around 7:50 p.m. when Sandra Fowler, 57 of Sanford, Maine, was traveling eastbound on Highland Street in her Hummer H3 and crashed into a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Jennie Hindmarch, 43 of Wells, Maine, who was headed west and turning left onto Salmon Falls Road.

The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles. Both cars' airbags deployed.

Hindmarch, her adult passenger and Fowler were all transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries. Neither Hindmarch nor her passenger was wearing seat belts.

Hindmarch was issued a citation for failure to yield.
