Three injured when car rear-ends COAST bus

ROCHESTER - Two passengers on a COAST bus including a child and another motorist were injured today when the bus was rear-ended by another vehicle on Rochester Hill Road.

Police and EMS responded around 12:40 p.m. to the area of Nola Avenue and Rochester Hill Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision with air bag deployment involving a passenger vehicle and the bus.

The initial investigation revealed that Renee Dupuis, 53, of Rochester, was traveling southbound on Rochester Hill Road when her vehicle struck the bus, which had stopped at a bus stop.

The front end of Dupuis' vehicle struck the rear end of the bus, causing her vehicle to go under the bus' rear bumper.

Dupuis and two passengers on the bus including the child were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries.

The bus was able to be driven from the scene, but Dupuis' vehicle had to be towed. The roadway was closed temporarily during the investigation.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, however, amedical condition is not being ruled out at this time. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Officer Geoff Moore.
