WATERBORO, Maine - A violent three-man drug-related home invasion that led to a wild chase after a vehicle thought laden with drugs into Newfield ended with all three suspects being arrested on Route 202 by Sanford Police on Thursday.

The events that led to the bizarre incident unfolded Thursday around 2 p.m. when York County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on Bridge Street in Newfield. The caller reported that he observed a man with his hands bound in duct tape with another man pointing a gun at his head yelling at him. The caller reported that the man holding the gun got back in the vehicle, leaving the man with the duct tape behind. The caller reported the vehicle with several males traveling towards Waterboro.

After interviewing the three out-of-state suspects and the victims, an investigation revealed that the suspects had driven to a house on Northeast Road in Waterboro under the apparent misconception that there was a large amount of marijuana at the Waterboro residence and they wanted it, police said.

While two of the suspects went into the residence, the third man waited in the vehicle. There were three people at the Waterboro residence, who claimed they did not have a large amount of marijuana, which angered the suspects.

The men then ordered the three victims to lie on the floor while they secured their arms with duct tape and searched the house, a YCSO press release on Thursday noted. When they thought one of the victims resisted, they allegedly struck him on the head with the gun and also dragged one of the victims down some stairs. The men prodded the victims and produced a blowtorch, threatening to burn them if they did not give up their stash of marijuana, the release stated.

One of the victims then concocted a story that the marijuana was in the possession of an "associate" and pointed to a random vehicle that was passing by the house. The victim told the men the stash of marijuana was in the vehicle that was traveling down the road.

The suspects hurriedly got into their vehicle, taking the victim with them as they tried to catch up to the random vehicle, police said. The random vehicle drove into Newfield before the suspects caught up to it. When the suspect vehicle slowed down, the victim jumped out of the vehicle and started yelling for help, which led to police being notified.

While responding to the scene, deputies had sent out a general broadcast to neighboring jurisdictions to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle. Sanford Police stopped the vehicle on Route 202 and detained the three men.

Angel, Aliciea, 25, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Samuel Hilton, 23, and Anyheuris Mota-Speing, 23, both of Lawrence, Mass., were arrested and charged with felony robbery and kidnapping . Bail was set at $100,000 on each suspect, pending their later arraignment.

None of the victims required medical attention.

The investigation continues.
