Three Ponds ecosystem can't handle campground's expansion

Citizens of Milton and Lebanon:

The town fathers of Milton are bent on allowing (even encouraging) a corporation from Michigan to expand the Mi-Te-Jo Campground into a resort (TPR--Three Ponds Resort) even though:

  • The people of Milton overwhelmingly voted NO
  • The ZBA voted NO
  • The Superior Court of NH upheld the ZBA's NO vote

There is NO upside for the Town of Milton to allow this burgeoning of a local campground into a full blown resort on land zoned as Low Density Residential. (One house per 2 acres)

  • NO tax advantage
  • NO real jobs
  • NO commercial advantage to our local businesses (All profits go to the corporation in Michigan)
  • NO enjoyment by Milton residents; out-of-towners will have their fun at the expense of our natural resources

What Milton gets is real danger to our fragile ponds, our drinking water, our health, and our roadways.

The fragile Ponds, and consequently the surrounding region, stand to suffer from water runoff caused by the loss of permeable soil due to the addition of "park model" cabins (There are 26 so far), construction of the water park and the like.

If you have concern for the very life of our beautiful town (What are we without our ponds?),

Please attend the Milton Planning Board Meeting at the Emma Ramsey Building Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

In the words of our ZBA last year, "If we don't get this right, there's no going back."
