ROCHESTER - A transient woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly promoting prostitution at a Rochester motel last month.

Police first responded to the Hi-Vu Motor Inn on Rochester Hill Road on Aug. 13 after a 54-year-old male reported a woman came to his room wanting sex for money. Police say he declined and called the police.

After investigating the officer completed a warrant for Angela Davis, 34, for a Class B misdemeanor of prostitution.

Davis was arrested when an officer saw her walking on Bridge Street around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday. She was taken into custody without incident and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail with an arraignment next month. This was the first such report on Davis, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.
