COPYRIGHT2017© MILTON - Cumberland Farms in Milton was closed for several hours on Wednesday when a trash truck snagged some electrical wires in the parking lot, sparking a fire inside the truck.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. when the truck arrived to empty trash containers behind the store.

When Milton firefighters arrived the truck was fully involved, prompting them to have the operator spill all the truck's contents on the pavement so they could extinguish the flame.

One onlooker who saw the chaos unfold said, "You wouldn't believe how much trash came out of that truck."

Unofficial reports could not determine what company the truck belonged to, but added that Waste Management had been called to assist in the situation.

Milton used its front-end loader to help move the trash around as firefighters poured water on the debris.

Yellow tape roped off the entire entrance to the store during much of the incident as the trash was extinguished and removed to another truck.

Cumberand Farms reopened around 4 p.m.
