Two Rochester men among trio charged in kidnapping, assault

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police arrested two Rochester men and a third from Laconia in the kidnapping and assault of a 21-year-old man on Wednesday.

Dylan Madore, 22, of 58A Chestnut St., and Garrett Pehowic, 21, of 17B Knight St., both of Rochester; and Anthony M. Smith, 23, of 193 Pleasant St, Laconia, are all being held on high cash bail pending an arraignment later today.

Police became involved around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday upon receiving a 911 report of an adult being kidnapped. At the time, it was stated that a 21-year-old male had been abducted and beaten by three people. The call stated the male was then forced into a vehicle, but was able to break a window and escape before calling 911.

The victim was taken to Friisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries

Madore was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy to commit second degree assault, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled drug, while Pehowic was charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit second degree assault and Smith was charged with kidnapping and second degree assault.

Madore, Pehowic and Smith are all being held at the Strafford County Jail with Smith held on $75,000 and Madore and Pehowic on $50,000.

This is still an ongoing investigation and more charges could follow. Police do not believe this was a random act and feel this incident does not present a danger to the public.
