CONCORD - U.S. News & World Report on Monday recognized New Hampshire as the No. 2 overall "Best State" in the country, according to their newly released "Best States" rankings.
"Today in the Granite State, more people are working than ever before, business taxes are at their lowest this century, and a child's neighborhood no longer defines their chance for a quality education," said Governor Chris Sununu "Our model is a success story and opportunities abound. The sky is the limit here in New Hampshire, and we are just getting started."
Last year New Hampshire ranked #5.

In addition to #2 overall, New Hampshire ranked high in the following categories:

  • #1 for Low Income Gap by Race
  • #1 for College Readiness
  • #1 for NAEP Math Scores
  • #1 for NAEP Reading Scores
  • #1 for Low Industrial Toxins
