CONCORD, N.H. - The man with ties to Rochester sought by federal marshals was arrested without incident in Alexandria just hours after a press release detailing his description and that of a vehicle he is thought to have stolen.

Jason McCoy was wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including a probation violation, for an original offense of reckless conduct involving a firearm, and a receiving stolen property warrant issued by the Rochester Police Department. While on the run on these warrants, McCoy allegedly stolen a vehicle, a shotgun, ammunition and had led police on multiple chases. McCoy was considered to be armed and dangerous.

After a press release sent to The Lebanon Voice and several other New Hampshire media outlets, including WMUR of Manchester the U.S. Marshals Service was flooded with telephone calls and anonymous text tips and emails, which led investigators to a residence on Mount Cardigan Road in Alexandria.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, McCoy was located and arrested at the Mount Cardigan Road residence without incident. Once in custody, McCoy was transported to the Merrimack County Jail for holding pending further transport to the Grafton County Jail, where he will go to court on his outstanding probation violations.

The stolen vehicle and firearm were not recovered at the scene of McCoy's arrest. The Walpole (NH) Police Department will continue its investigation into these missing items.

This arrest was made by several members of the U.S. Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, including members from the Rockingham and Strafford County Sheriff's Offices, Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), deputy U.S. Marshals and police officers from the Alexandria, Ashland, Hill and Danbury Police Departments.
