Update: GOP's Sununu, Guinta grab thin wins in primary

CONCORD, N.H. - Chris Sununu has edged out Frank Edelblut for the Republican gubernatorial primary by about 800 votes, election officials announced within the last hour, while Democrat Colin Van Ostern coasted to his primary win.

Meanwhile, Republican U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte easily defeated Jim Rubens and Governor Maggie Hassen was uncontested as the two appear headed for a tough November showdown.

In the District 1 U.S. rep race, Rich Ashooh today conceded the race to incumbent Frank Guinta, who was leading by some 700 votes. He'll now face Democrat Carol Shea-Porter, who was unopposed in her primary.

In the state Senate District 3 which represents Milton, Republican Jeb Bradley and Democrat John White were both uncontested.

In state Senate District 6 which covers Rochester, Republican James Gray and Democrat Joe Casey were also uncontested and will face off in November.

In Strafford House District 1 that covers Milton, Republicans Robert Graham and John Mullen both move on to the general election, while Democrat Larry Brown was uncontested.

In Rochester, the winners were as follows:

District 7, Republican Nick Angelo, Democrat Timothy Fontneau (both uncontested)

District 8, Republican Don Leeman, Democrat Donna Ellis (both uncontested)

District 9, Republican Steven Beaudoin, Democrat Tom Ransom (both uncontested)
District 10, Republican Jody McNally, Democrat Dennis Dubois (both uncontested)

District 11, Republican Susan DeLemus, Democrat Sean Houle (both uncontested)

District 12, Republican Matthew Scruton, the projected winner, over Robert Knowles; Democrat Pamela Hubbard was uncontested

District 22, Republican Thomas Kaczynski, Democrat Rose Marie Rogers (both uncontested)

District 24, Republican Brandon Phinney, Democrat Karen Stokes (both uncontested)
