ROCHESTER - Virginia Lillian Stacey, 85, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Eddington, Maine, April 6, 1930, the daughter of William Stacey II and Ethelyn (Carr) Stacey.
Virginia was a longtime resident of Rochester and also Bangor, Maine. She was general manager of Canobie Shoe Co. and Rochester USA for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 71. She was a GOLD STAR MOTHER, losing a son in Vietnam.
She is survived by brother, Richard E. Stacey and wife Sue of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 6 daughters, Sherrie P. Stanley and husband, Kevin of Rochester, N.H., Cathy L. Davis of Rochester, N.H., Karen Raye Adams and husband Richard of Somersworth, N.H., Suzanne Carter of Rochester, N.H., Rebecca Hoosier of OOB, Maine, Stacey Ellsworth and husband David of Phoenix, Ariz., one son, Sebastian Z. Stacey and wife Mary Ellen of Lebanon, Maine, also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Edward L. Mann; two brothers, William Stacey III and Harry Stacey.
