ROCHESTER - Virginia W. Lachance, 89, died peacefully Fri., Feb. 19, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Viginia was born in Rochester, N.H., on September 25, 1926, the daughter of Ernest and Eva (Reed) Worster and was a lifelong resident of Rochester.
She was a graduate of Spaulding High School, class of 1944, and a graduate of UNH class of 1948. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Lab Technician at Path Lab at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital for 32 years. Virginia was a former supervisor of the Blood Bank, a former officer of the Red Raiders Football Mothers Club.
Virginia, fondly known as "Memere" to all, loved celebrating the holidays with family and friends. Special gatherings were shared throughout the year from Christmas's pork pie, Thanksgiving feasts, Pumpkin Day and Fourth of July barbecues.
Memere took special care in her beautiful gardens which were admired by many.
Surviving members of the family include her husband of 67 years, Jerome Lachance of Rochester, N.H.; three sons, Jerome Lachance II, Stephen Lachance and his wife Anita, and Eric Lachance and his wife Anita all of Rochester, N.H.; three daughters, Susan Brown of Rochester, N.H., Michele Kimball and her husband Gerry of Lebanon, Maine, and Virginia Peabody and her husband Chuck of Orlando, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Deb Lachance of Rochester, N.H.; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws Lois Worster and Florence Worster; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Harland and Stillman, and her granddaughter, Rebecca Brown.
