ROCHESTER - Final planning is under way for the 2nd Annual Fireworks Festival on July 3 at the Rochester Community Center.

The free public event runs from 6-10 p.m. and features live music, children's games, face painting, Wildlife Encounters, glow toys, food, vendors, and more. The highlight will be a huge fireworks show beginning around 9:30 with prime viewing from the athletic fields of Spaulding High School.

The public is invited to attend the festival and bring blankets or lawn chairs to relax while viewing the display. The event is pet-free.

Available event parking is in all city parking lots, in the former Ben Franklin parking lot, and in limited availability at the Community Center. Private lots or driveways should not be used. To help accommodate attendees, a COAST shuttle bus will run during the event between the Community Center and the city parking lots on North Main Street by Lilac City Grille, on Union Street - behind Revolution - and at the city municipal campus.

This event is a collaboration between Rochester Main Street and the City of Rochester. Volunteer involvement is welcome to help host this community event.

"This event was a massive success last year," Main Street Director Angela Mills said. "But it takes huge volunteer support."

Interested volunteers are encouraged to contact Main Street at Director@RochesterMainStreet.org.
