ALFRED, Maine - A West Lebanon man has been indicted on domestic violence assault charges.

Bryon S. Pettis, of 254 Orrills Hill Road, was formally charged by a York County grand jury on Tuesday in connection with an Aug. 15 incident in Lebanon.

Pettis was also charged with obstructing the reporting of a domestic violence offense, a Class D felony, which can mean a year in county jail. The assault charge is a Class C crime, punishable by up to five years in state prison.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
