YARMOUTH, Mass. - Winifred A. "Winnie" (Fahey) Clifford passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Clifford.
Born in Somerville, she lived most of her life in Melrose and was a 1941 graduate of Melrose High School. She worked for a brief time as a draftswomen for Factory Mutual Engineering Division in Boston. During WW II, she was a member of the United States Citizens Defense Corps of the American Red Cross, serving with the volunteer nurse's aides corps at Boston City Hospital. Winnie was also past president of Phi Theta Xi in Melrose. For the past four years she has resided at Maplewood at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth.
She leaves six children Christopher S. Clifford and his wife Karla of Milton, Susan Giasson and her husband Robert of Essex Junction, Vt., Scott Clifford and his wife Carolyn of Dover, N.H., Deborah A. Clifford of Ft. Collins, Colo., Diane Morris and her husband Kevin of Yarmouth Port, and Robert W. Clifford, Jr. of Milton; She also leaves her grandchildren Jeremiah, Hillary and Alexandra Clifford, Alexander and Andrew Giasson, Elinor and Camille Clifford, Andrew Parrish, Kristin (Morris) Ferguson and Jennifer (Morris) Moraes, as well as her great granddaughters Bailey Ferguson and Hadley Giasson and a sister Mary L. Fahey.
