ALFRED, Maine - A Waterboro woman was arrested for her second drunken driving offense on Friday after she was found to be inebriated upon arrival at York County Jail where she had driven to bail out her boyfriend.

The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. when an alert sheriff's deputy who was leaving the jail noticed a vehicle drive to a nonpublic area of the jail complex.

Deputy Sheriff Kevin Collins then approached the vehicle and identified the occupant as Laceylyn Lang, 38, of Waterboro.

As Lang explained she was at the jail to bail out her boyfriend who'd been arrested earlier in the evening, it became clear to Collins that she was drunk.

Further investigation showed that her license was suspended for a previous charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

The deputy then transported Ms. Lang about 100 feet to the jail and charged her with OUI and operating after suspension.

Lang posted bail of $760 and was released pending an April arraignment.
