ROCHESTER - The woman who died in a horrific October fire on Whispering Lane has been identified as Berry Brackett, 74, according to fire officials.

The fire occurred early on Oct. 26, and when Rochester fire crews arrived at the structure at 21 Whispering Lane, a mobile home, the building was fully involved.

The fire completely destroyed the house, leaving only charred rubble. The Lebanon Voice learned the woman's identity the day after the fire but declined to publish her name out of respect for the family and safety officials who had not completed their investigation.

Brackett was the lone resident of the home, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
