Youngster struck by car while crossing Wakefield Street

ROCHESTER - A minor child was struck by a car while crossing Wakefield Street near the intersection of Columbus Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when police say Chasyty Buschel, 35, o Rochester was headed north in a Chevrolet Traverse when a juvenile crossed through traffic from the opposite side of the road.

The accident did not occur in a marked crosswalk.

The juvenile was taken to the hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.
