3 make best case for election at Candidate's Forum

LEBANON - Lebanon’s three selectman candidates made their best pitches for residents’ votes on Thursday at a Candidates Forum at Lebanon Elementary School sponsored by The Lebanon Voice.

Corinna Cole, Richard “Chip” Harlow and Royce Heath all made compelling arguments for why they should be the next selectman to replace outgoing Selectmen Chair Karen Gerrish, who is making a run for the state Legislature against Lebanon Voice owner Harrison Thorp.

Thorp and Gerrish will battle it out in a primary on June 10, the same day one of the three selectman hopefuls will be elected to replace her.

Last night’s forum had three rounds, including an audience participation round in which they were chosen at random to ask the candidates a question.

Harlow videotaped the meeting, and The Lebanon Voice will provide a link on the paper’s website and its Facebook page when it becomes available.

The five Budget Committee hopefuls were invited to speak briefly about their candidacy, but none attended the forum.

About 25 residents attended the forum, which lasted about 45 minutes.
