COPYRIGHT2017© ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested on drug charges early Tuesday after police traced a 911 hangup call to the downtown where they say he was found preparing to use heroin.
The 911 hangup occurred at 1:45 a.m., and police quickly learned it was from a 911-only cell phone.
Police traced the call to the Barker Court area of the Union Street parking lot.
There they arrested Roger Dale Lewis, 52, of 174 Farmington Road, where he is alleged to have been preparing to use the drug, according to Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas.
Lewis was charged with drug possession and falsifying physical evidence for allegedly trying to destroy evidence. Both charges are Class B felonies punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Lewis, who is well known to police, was released on personal recognizance with a May arraignment in Strafford County Superior Court.
