Add Barrington, Strafford to growing list of local towns with no COVID cases

CONCORD - More good COVID news came out on Friday, with both Barrington and Strafford added to the list of local towns with no current cases of the virus.

Rochester and Dover are now the only local New Hampshire cities or towns that have cases, with Rochester at two, according to Rochester EOC Chief Mark Klose; and Dover with 1-4, according to state DHHS.

Meanwhile, numbers released on Friday afternoon showed Durham the hot spot in Strafford County, with 18 current cases, second to only Manchester, which has 31. The increase in Durham is likely due to returning UNH students being tested prior to beginning fall classes.

Statewide, DHHS announced 23 new positive test results for COVID-19, including five in Strafford County.

One new hospitalized case was identified for a current total of nine.
