AG's Office probing another fatal officer-involved shooting, this one in Northfield
Staff reports 4:40 a.m. NORTHFIELD - The Attorney Generals Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early today in Northfield. The incident reportedly occurred at a private residence as officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call and resulted in one adult female being shot by one of the responding officers, according to a statement from the Attorney Generals Office. The adult female died at the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding this incident are under active investigation. The name of the deceased will be released following notification of next of kin, and an autopsy will be scheduled by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Safety officials say there is no known threat to the public at this time. It was the second fatal officer-involved shooting in the state in two days. Matthew J. Masse, 38, of Raymond was killed on Saturday in a shootout with officers who were responding to a report that he had fired a weapon at a family member.
