Alton woman injured in two-car crash near Frisbie

ROCHESTER - An Alton woman was injured Monday when her car was rear-ended by another vehicle when she stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk near the staff parking lot at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. when police say a 2008 Nissan Sentra driven by Vanessa Dumont, 42 of Alton, was traveling east on Whitehall Road when she stopped at the crosswalk for a pedestrian and was struck by a 2015 Nissan Rogue driven by Brooke Alexander, 30, of Rochester.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone that may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Officer Krochmal at 603-330-7128.
