BRIDGEWATER - An 89-year-old Bridgewater man walking in the breakdown lane of the Mayhew Turnpike was struck and killed by a 16-year-old driver on Monday. The fatality occurred around 9:45 a.m. in Bridgewater. Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2003 Subaru Legacy was traveling northbound when it entered the breakdown lane and struck the man.
