SOMERSWORTH - Barbara Ann Panteledes, 85, of Somersworth, NH passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on July 23, 1941, in Dover, NH to John and Josephine (Assad) Gasses, Barbara was a graduate of St. Mary’s School.
After high school Barbara worked at Clarostat and Avery. She married the love of her life, Arthur Panteledes, in 1970 at St. George church in Dover. Barbara and Arthur were avid bowlers and also enjoyed camping at Grandview in Rochester for many years. Together they doted over their beloved dog, Pixie.
Barbara was a talented baker who enjoyed baking and decorating beautiful custom birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and other delicious baked goods for her family and friends. She also hosted delicious Thanksgiving dinners for many years. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and watching wrestling. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a big beautiful smile and loved to laugh and joke with everyone.
Barbara is survived by her sister Charlotte Caldwell (Dover); nephews James McCabe Jr. (NH), John McCabe and wife Linda (Candia), John Panteledes (Barrington), Brian Panteledes (Rochester); nieces Marie Baker and husband John (NH), and Sonja Caldwell (Concord) and fiancé Casey Hoch; niece of the heart, Alysha Thibault (Maine), and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Arthur, her sister Theresa McCabe, and her brother-in-law William Caldwell.
