State Police, Fire Marshal's Office probe death of man found near fire pit in Sanford

SANFORD, Maine - The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of a man whose body was found near a back yard fire pit outside a Sanford residence on Thursday.
Around 5 a.m. Sanford Police responded to a residence on Twombley Road following a report of a deceased male located in the back yard.
