When 9/11 occurred I was the editor of the Foster’s Sunday Citizen, a weekly publication that served the Seacoast and Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
As such, my days off were Sunday and Monday, so when I came in on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, around 8 a.m. I wasn’t on any deadline. It was a day I normally used to do routine tasks to get ready for the upcoming Sunday edition, chat with reporters about what they were working on and in general, enjoy a relatively hopeful nonstressful day....
