Lorraine Fournier ... former speech language therapist; at 92

ROCHESTER - Lorraine Josephine Fournier (Demers, Mori), known to family and friends as Laurie, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born on August 13, 1934, in Whitefield, New Hampshire, the daughter of Alfred Fournier and Gertrude Gatineau Fournier. The seventh of ten children in a large and loving family, Laurie grew up in the White Mountains, a place that remained deeply important to her throughout her life.

She attended Whitefield High School, and she earned a B.S. degree from the University of New Hampshire. She raised her five children with her first husband, Joseph Demers, in Ipswich, Massachusetts and Rochester, New Hampshire. She also lived in Greenland , New Hampshire with her second husband Charlie Mori and worked as a speech language therapist for the Portsmouth N.H. school system. She retired to Center Tuftonboro, New Hamphsire, where she worked part-time at the town Public Library and at Black's Gift Shop in Wolfeboro, NH.
