Reopening of Portland Street Bridge over Wardley Brook at Chamberlain Street delayed till Nov. 25

ROCHESTER - Due to an unforeseen condition of the bridge’s upstream headwall that was discovered upon excavation, the city's DPW now expects the Portland Street Bridge over Willow (Wardley Brook) at Chamberlain Street won't be reopened till Nov. 25.
Additional design and construction is now necessary to complete the job, according to DPW officials.
The original project was begun to complete repairs to the concrete structure, reconstruct the sidewalk and replace the guardrail.
