Apparent biker clash reported at city gas station

Staff reports

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police say an assault occurred downtown on Monday that was apparently between individuals from two separate motorcycle clubs.

The fracas broke out at the Monster Gas Station on South Main Street, said Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau on Tuesday, and involved four men, three apparently from one club and one from another.

"The insignias suggest two separate clubs," said Boudreau, who added state police and lawmen across the state will be paying close attention to any such skirmishes, especially since Bike Week in Laconia is scheduled for next month.

The fight had nothing to do with the recent bloodbath between bikers at a Waco, Texas, restaurant, he added.

The victim in the Monday assault was not cooperative, Boudreau said, and refused transport for treatment of any injuries and added that because of a lack of witnesses who could positively identify any of the suspects, the investigation is closed.

Boudreau noted that neither of the clubs involved in Monday's disturbance have any connection with Rochester.
