As I walked amid the homeless encampment behind the Rochester Public Library and First Congregational Church on Thursday, I couldn't help but think why are these poor souls in tents while millions of illegal aliens are being put up in four-star hotels across the country at taxpayer expense.
In fact, since Biden took office, Customs and Border Patrol numbers show that about 15 million illegal aliens have invaded our country. Think of it. That's more than ten times the population of the state of New Hampshire.
A November Congressional report stated that there are now 17-29 million illegal aliens in this country costing every American taxpayer about $1,000.
Meanwhile, the country is in the midst of a homelessness crisis, and it's right here at our doorstep in Rochester.
So how do you think these homeless folk feel when they see those who crossed our border illegally get so much more attention and money than they do?
And who brought this crisis on?
Easy question. It was President Biden, who took away the "remain in Mexico" program and many other policies that were put in place by President Trump, whose presidency saw some of the lowest illegal crossings in decades.
Congress never approved the removal of those Trump-era policies.
Joe Biden did it unilaterally. LIKE A DICTATOR!
During his 2020 presidential run he openly invited migrants to come to America.
So where are his priorities? With the homeless, including homeless veterans?
Or with the migrants?
And why can't members of our own New Hampshire Congressional Delegation grow a spine and demand he reinstate the "stay in Mexico" policy while their asylum claims are adjudicated.
I'm afraid you'll have to ask them that. Here's their numbers.
Sen. Shaheen's Washington office is (202) 224-2841. Sen. Hassan's is (202) 224-3324. Rep. Chris Pappas' is (202) 225-5456. Rep. Ann Kuster's is (202) 225-2946.
Let me know what they say if they answer your call.
