DOVER - Betty L Jewell of Dover, NH died on July 18, 2026.
She was born on April 28, 1932 daughter of the late Charles and Frances Jewell.
The family moved to Kittery, Maine in 1941 where she lived until she graduated from R.W. Traip Academy in 1951. After graduating from Aviation Training School in Boston, Mass in 1953, she worked for National Airlines in Miami, FL.
In 1956 she moved to Portland, Maine and was employed by Maine Blue Cross and Blue Shield and later Mercy Hospital until 1979, at which time she married and lived in Anaheim, CA.
She returned in 1982 to Rochester, NH to care for her parents and worked for UNH in Durham, NH until she retired in 1997. She resided in Rochester for 31 years and moved to Dover, NH in June 2015.
Betty enjoyed traveling to Europe, Alaska and Bermuda, where she made many friends. Her most memorable trip was when she went to Mexico with a missionary group to help distribute food and clothing to the needy.
She was an avid reader and liked to work in her gardens when she owned her home.
Betty is survived by her good friends Kathy and Cary Wainwright, Diane and Jerry Lassor, several cousins and three nieces and their children of CA
