When you have a yen for liver and onions, there’s really only one place to go round here in my book: Granite Steak and Grill.
The grilled onions and meat were cooked to perfection, although I would’ve liked a little more onions.
But the two slabs of thick-cut bacon more than made up for dearth of onions, which were also delicious.
In the past whenever I've ordered liver and onions and got no bacon I've always felt something was remiss, somewhat underwhelmed.
Still, between the liver, the onions, the bacon and the red bliss mashed potatoes, well, that’s a flat out gastronomic symphony.
I started the meal off with a warm, gluten free roll with whipped honey butter with a tossed salad that arrived with copious amounts of chunky blue cheese dressing. Btw, I believe the Granite Steak & Grill is the only restaurant round town that has gluten free rolls and honey whipped butter. (Restaurateurs correct me if I'm wrong).
The service was as crisp as the bacon, and I was out the door with a doggie that served as my next day’s lunch in no more than 35 or 40 minutes.
The whole meal, off the senior menu, including coffee and dessert was around $20.
It might be a tad more for the young'uns but it's still worth it.
