Rita M. Hammer ... enjoyed singing, cooking

ROCHESTER - Rita M. Hammer, 93, of Rochester, N.H., died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Riverside Rest Home in Dover, N.H. She was born November 19, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Emma (Valliere) Lamirande.
She is the widow of Sterling Hammer, also predeceased by three sisters, Marcelle Lamirande, Sister Pauline Lamirande, Theresa Hazeltine and brother John P. Lamirande.
Survivors include one brother, Robert Lamirande of Salem, N.H., several nieces, nephews and cousins and close friends.

Rita worked many years at Dr. Edward Hassey's Dental Office in Lawrence, Mass., and Sears in Newington, N.H. She taught piano school (Old Town, Maine, Lawrence/Methuen, Mass.), was a member of the chorus at Lilac City Estates in Rochester, enjoyed cooking and sharing food with neighbors.
