GONIC - Brickstones in Gonic has as loyal a following as any Rochester eatery and for good reason.

Good food at reasonable prices.

When we went for lunch on Tuesday the parking lot was almost full when we got there, and so was the dining room.

Martha and I both ordered bacon cheeseburger clubs that came with all the fixins', cole slaw or potato salad, and fries for $8.95.

The fries aren't totally gluten free as they are cooked in the same oil as other foods, but they, themselves, are gluten free.

We were both glad we got the cole slaw, because it was outstanding, and the bacon burgers were delicious with copious amounts of bacon.

It was only our third or fourth time at the restaurant, but they way waitresses and customers banter, you can easily surmise Brickstones has one of the best customer bases in the city.

While the Pickering Road eatery is popular at lunch it may be best known for its breakfast, many locals say.

The Rochester Voice has yet to go to there for a morning repast, however we were scolded on Facebook about a year ago when we said another local restaurant had the best breakfast.

Those are some tasty marching orders.

Brickstones is located at 73 Pickering Pond Road next to the Gonic Mill.
