Baby sitter who choked 4-year-old gets jail

Nicolas Coker

DOVER, N.H. - An East Rochester man will spend a year in jail for choking a 4-year-old girl who threw a Barbie doll at him last December while baby sitting.

Nicolas Coker, 21, of 63 Salmon Falls Road, was also given a 10-year suspended sentence on another assault charge in connection with the attack, which he will not have to serve if he stays on good behavior after his release from jail.

The plea agreement was reached on Monday.

The girl was originally injured by Coker on Dec. 5, 2013, and taken to the hospital by her mother when she returned home to find her daughter bleeding around her eyes and cheeks.

Coker, who suffers from autism, according to court records provided by his attorney, was arrested soon after.
