BARRINGTON - A Barrington school is the first in the region to transition to remote learning following a pair of positive COVID-19 cases identified there.

The town's elementary school began its remote option today after the cases were confirmed on Sunday.

Superintendent of Schools Daniel Moulis announced on Monday students were dismissed early.

New Hampshire DHHS officials indicated they are aware of the two cases and following up with contract tracing on both individuals, who were not identified as staff or students due to confidentiality reasons.

An announcement sent parents indicated the town's other schools will continue with in-school instruction and added that siblings of both BES students that attend the town's Early Childhood Learning Center or Barrington Middle School are allowed to attend school unless they develop COVID-19 symptoms.

A school spokesperson reached this morning said the town's elementary school would return to in-school learning on Monday.
