LEBANON - A skydiving accident marred the first day of Skydive New England’s Tiki Bar Weekend on Friday when a Massachusetts man was injured on a hard landing.

The 32-year-old, reportedly an experienced jumper, was rushed to the helipad at Goodall Hospital in Sanford where he was airlifted to the trauma center at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The man suffered a broken left leg, according to Skydive New England spokesman Eli Bolotin.

The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the skydiving facility’s landing zone.
