ROCHESTER - A Farmington man who fled police after a traffic stop and ended up crashing his pickup truck into parked cars at a downtown Rochester business last year is set for a bench trial next Monday in Strafford County Superior Court, but it might not happen unless he turns himself in to police.

Rochester Police, the county sheriff's office and U.S. Marshals are currently seeking Nicholas LaPanne, 44, of 894 Meaderboro Road, for violations of conditions of release, according to the Rochester Police Facebook page, which issued a bulletin regarding his status on Wednesday. Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas confirmed today LaPanne was still at large.

The Oct. 7, 2016, incident began when a Rochester motorcycle officer conducted a traffic stop on LaPanne on Wakefield Street near Spaulding High School. As a second officer stopped at the scene and conferred with the motorcycle officer, LaPanne allegedly sped south on Wakefield in his Chevrolet pickup truck, eventually crashing into two vehicles parked at Tri-City Towing. LaPanne then fled on foot, police said.
He turned himself in a few days later after learning there was a warrant out for his arrest.
LaPanne was out on personal recognizance while awaiting trial prior to going on the lam.

He was originally charged with a slew of offenses including felony reckless conduct and conduct after an accident along with several misdemeanors including a traffic violation, aggravated DWI, criminal mischief and disobeying a police officer.

He was indicted last December on a single felony count of reckless conduct for allegedly placing "another in danger of serious bodily injury by means of a deadly weapon (his truck) when after being pulled over by a Rochester Police Officer he fled a traffic stop at high rate of speed on Milton Road ... crossing over a "triangle" road divider, and subsequently crashed into other parked vehicles."
