Berwick man commits suicide after shooting incident in Somersworth

©BERWICK - A Berwick killed himself today at his Long Swamp Road home after a shooting in Somersworth, according to Maine State Police.

Jared Greenlaw, 25, of 197 Long Swamp Road, was involved in a shooting at Trackside Tacos in Somersworth around 11:30 p.m. on Friday when he allegedly fired at and missed another man, police said.

Maine State and Berwick police responded around 1:15 a.m. to Greenlaw's house where he had barricaded himself inside his residence.

Police shut down a portion of Long Swamp Road around 4 a.m.

Then around 7 a.m. officers at the scene heard a gunshot from inside the house, Steve McCausland of the Maine State Police said. Police entered the building and found the body about three hours later.

About a dozen Maine State Police in camouflage gear, K-9 units and a tactical armored police vehicle were all part of the massive police presence at the scene.

The manager at Trackside Tacos today refused comment on the incident, saying an investigation was under way.
