Betts Road log house fire leaves family of three homeless

ROCHESTER - A Betts Road house went up in flames on Friday, leaving a family of three homeless, but unharmed.

Firefighters responded to 38 Betts Road around 5:40 p.m., found a "well-involved two-story log cabin" and quickly called a second alarm drawing crews from surrounding towns.

Three family members as well as two cats got out OK. The family was assisted with food and shelter by local Red Cross volunteers, according to a news release from the Red Cross officials.

Except for a few hot spots, the blaze was out in a little over an hour.
