Brazen pair rob gas station during PM commute

Surveillance video shows the heavy-set suspect behind the counter, left, with the other pointing a handgun.

ROCHESTER - The Milton Road Shell gas station was the scene of a spectacularly brazen daytime robbery during afternoon commute on Wednesday as two heavily armed men entered the store and demanded cash as several customers shopped inside.

The two men entered the store a little after 5 p.m., confronted the clerk and demanded money, according to Rochester Police, who responded to the scene with K9 help.

Upon leaving, the pair fled north on foot on Milton Road.

One of the men toted a shotgun, while the other held a handgun, police said.

Assistance in the track was also provided by Maine and New Hampshire State Police as well as their K9 units.

Both suspects are described as white, one with a heavy build, 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall, 18-25 years old, blond hair and wearing a Patriots baseball cap, with a red bandanna over his face and a blue shirt with white stripes. He was brandishing a sawed off gray-camouflaged pattern shotgun.

The other suspect has a thin build, is 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall, was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a cloth covering his face, a dark brimmed baseball cap and holding a black long barreled hand gun.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

Police did not disclose the amount of cash stolen.
