Brewster H. Potter Jr. ... ran plumbing business

LEBANON, Maine - Brewster H. Potter Jr., died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018.

Born on Sept. 10, 1956, in Melrose, Mass., he was the son of Brewster and Margaret Potter.

He grew up on his family's dairy farm in Lebanon and graduated from Noble High School in 1974.

He ran his own plumbing business for many years, serving a wide range of commercial and residential customers.

Brewster was there whenever his family, friends, or customers needed him - and not just when their pipes froze. He worked long hours, so he greatly appreciated any time off with family and friends. He loved playing hockey, skiing, fishing, scuba diving, digging for old bottles, wandering in the woods, and swapping stories with his close, extended family and life-long friends.

He inherited the Potters' practical streak, as well as their artistic talent; for example, he created unique backdrops for his daughter's wedding in October. Brewster and his wife Joanne were married in 1988, also in October. They met as children and, over time, it became apparent they were kindred spirits. Their home was always a center of activities for their family and friends. Brewster was a unique mix of serious ideas and witty humor, which endeared him to so many. He cared deeply about his wide social circle and his community.

Brewster was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Patrick Buonano of Lebanon; his son, Gordon of Lebanon; his brother, David, of Raymond, N.H.; his sister and brother-in-law, Sarah Jane Potter and Kevin Blood, of North Berwick; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Dan Bennett, of Eliot, Maine; as well as his aunts and cousins, and the Stuart family.
