Candidates for vacant Ward 5 seat must apply by June 15

ROCHESTER - The city is seeking to fill the currently vacant office of the Ward 5 City Council, Seat A, following former Councilor Chris Rice's removal from office for misconduct.

The term of this vacancy is from the time of appointment until the next municipal election on Nov. 7, 2023.

Interested candidates must be registered to vote in Ward 5. According to the city website, candidates must submit a Statement of Interest and/or resume by June 15 to City Hall, 31 Wakefield St, Rochester, NH 03867, ATTN: City Clerk.

Candidates will be interviewed by the full City Council at the June 21 meeting after which one will be elected by council ballot.
