EAST LEBANON - The fire that destroyed a Lebanon mobile home on Tuesday claimed the family dog and cat, a family member told The Lebanon Voice.

A young man and a one-year-old baby were in the home at the time, but escaped unharmed. A female who also lived at the house was not at home when the fire erupted and swept quickly through the mobile home located behind Trains Tavern.

Fire officials say the blaze began when a blow dryer was left running in order to thaw out a frozen pipe.

Both Lebanon and Sanford Fire Departments responded, and a Sanford firefighter sustained minor injuries fighting the blaze.
