Billy Jolene (Miller) Ahearn

ROCHESTER - A Celebration of Life for the woman fatally shot last week on South Main Street in Rochester will be held today at the Raymond VFW.

Billy Jolene (Miller) Ahearn was born on August 5, 1993, and died on June 6, 2018, said the obit, which was published on the Brewitt Funeral Service and Crematory website.

The brief four-sentence obituary read in part, "If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again."

Ahearn, 24, died of a single gunshot wound, according to the state's coroner's office.

The shooting occurred around midnight on Tuesday on South Main Street near Friendly's.

According to a statement from the Attorney General's office, officers responded to the area for a reported shooting incident that involved two groups of people.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three adults, including an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound. That female was transported to a hospital where she later died.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone who may have information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective Geoff Moore at the Rochester Police Department at (603) 330-7140.

The Celebration of Life is set for 1-3 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4479, 39 Main St., Raymond.
