If you want some lively Mexican fiesta activities this Cinco de Mayo, you need not go any further south than The Rochester Opera House! Its going to be one colorful, rhythmic, all out, South-of-the-border celebration!
As quoted from the Opera House Facebook page "Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a cash bar. For those who would like to learn there will be an introductory salsa dance lesson from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Then the band, Primo Cubano, will play Cuban-style song, salsa, and cha cha ... the kind of Latin music that people most want to dance to ... with strong rhythmic beats and Spanish harmonies. For this event the Opera House floor will be flat with chairs removed for a massive wooden dance floor. Skilled latin dancers are planning to come from Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
During band breaks there will be dance performances by the Fluere Dance Company and the Bella Vita TEAM FUEGO ... of ladies styling, salsa, and of Dominican Bachatta. There will also be a Piรฑata cracking ceremony, and after the band more dancing from 11 p.m. to midnight with recorded music. Spread the word, invite your friends and help make this an annual event for Cinco de Mayo!"
