City bicyclist sustains minor injuries in crash with pickup

Staff reports 1:50 a.m.

ROCHESTER - A Rochester bicyclist received minor injuries today after he collided with a pickup truck on Washington Street.
The accident occurred a little before 7 a.m. when police say a 2006 Dodge 2500 driven by Samuel Currier, 29, of Rochester, was stopped on Walnut Street waiting to turn onto Washington. As Currier began to enter onto Washington, he collided with Anthony Willard, 24 of Rochester, who was crossing Washington on a bicycle.
Currier's truck was operating at a slow speed as he was starting from a stopped position, police said in a press release.
By the time police arrived at the accident scene, Currier had already left, driving Willard to the Frisbie Memorial Hospital emergency room where he was treated for minor injuries.
Both the truck and bike sustained only minor damage, police said.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
