DOVER - A Rochester man is facing three felonies stemming from an incident in January when he allegedly discharged a firearm "through the floor of his own residence toward the apartment below." According to the indictments handed down last month, Jay J. Bilodeau, 54, of Barker Court, Rochester, "did recklessly engage in conduct which could have placed another in danger of serious bodily injury." The two other felonies he is accused of include removing the firearm from the scene following the shooting (falsifying physical evidence) and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon after having been convicted of a prior felony. Each of the felonies provide for up to three and a half to seven year prison sentence apiece. An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to move forward to trial. The most recent Strafford Grand Jury indictments were handed down on March 16 and released on Friday.
