City man avoids prison, but will have to pass through drug court rigors

DOVER - A Rochester man pleaded guilty today to two felony drug counts and one felony weapons charge during a video hearing in Strafford County Superior Court.

As part of a plea deal, Wendell G. Corey II, 40, formerly of Old Dover Road, was sentenced to 1½ years in prison, all suspended pending his completion of drug court.

During the typical drug court three-year program, Corey will face monitoring including random drug testing.

As part of the plea a couple of petty thefts were nol prossed.

Corey also recently completed a 90-day jail term for a November probation violation, Assistant County Attorney Kayla Turner said today.
